%X This paper relates to the land use trajectory and to socio-economic metabolism, which constitute an approach to research on the society-nature relationship. Land use trajectories for three different dates (1986, 2001 and 2016) were extracted from LandSat satellite images by vectorization of the thematic information to three land use-cover classes (natural areas, anthropogenic agricultural areas and anthropogenic non-agricultural areas) in ArcMap software. The socio-economic indicator was based on of census sectors data. The results reflect the conflicting interactions between ecological and human systems in the study area. The extremes of exclusion and social inclusion may be associated with recent urban occupation and consolidated urban areas near to recovered natural areas in urban census sectors, respectively. The land use trajectory associated with the exclusion and social inclusion index allows understanding territorial dynamics and can be tools to support decision making and contribute to discussion about biodiversity conservation. In this case, it may be considered insufficient for the maintenance of ecosystem services and local sustainability.
